Designed and manufactured specially for the Main Hall at the Bocconi University in Milan, the award-winning Genya armchair by Dante Bonuccelli echoes the stylistic features and minimalism of the building designed by Irish firm Grafton Architects, which itself was founded by Pritzker Prize winners Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara. Perfectly in keeping with the spaciousness, atmosphere and style of the great hall, the armchair serves as a bold compositional feature and is unashamedly original, offering "architecture within architecture". When folded away, the chair, which is very compact, looks like part of a low wall and has a tilting monolith-like effect.
