LAMM designs the auditorium for the Innovation Centre of Consorzio Casalasco, a world leader in the tomato supply chain

LAMM, in collaboration with its sister company Caruso Acoustic, supplied a complete fit-out for the auditorium, including L213 armchairs, a tired platform, and sound-absorbing panels

Promoting agro-industrial culture through innovation and research, encouraging interdisciplinary knowledge exchange. The Innovation Centre of Casalasco Spa was inaugurated in Fontanellato (Parma). Casalasco is the leading consortium in Italy and one of the main players in Europe and worldwide for the cultivation, processing, and commercialization of tomatoes. It brings together 800 farms, 5 production sites, and over 70 packaging lines.

The new centre—established with the goal of advancing Agriculture 4.0 and fostering growth for both businesses and the local area—is dedicated to research and innovation applied to products, production and processing methods, packaging, ingredient quality, agronomy, and food safety. Inside, there is a state-of-the-art auditorium for which Casalasco has entrusted LAMM with the supply of seats and the fixed tribune beneath, as well as its sister company Caruso Acoustic with the sound-absorbing panels, which were also installed in the adjacent demonstration room.

Inside, the elegant composure of the L213 armchairs – R&D LAMM makes a striking impression. Maximum comfort for the seats, chosen in the “large” version with straight 10 cm-thick side panels, arranged in a curve (radii from 9 to 12 meters) with a centre-to-centre spacing of 60 cm. The load-bearing side hides the tip-up foldaway writing tablet. Prepared for series electrification and equipped with electrical sockets, the seats are painted bronze and upholstered in taupe faux leather.

The seats are mounted on a raised platform made of a metal framework and a walking surface finished in PVC, crafted in every detail, down to the inspection hatches for the installations and the step‑marking lighting.

C100 armchairs furnish the auditorium of the new hub that brings the community together through culture

The auditorium of the cultural hub ‘Il Pertini’ in Cinisello Balsamo (MI), dedicated to Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, is now fully equipped with LAMM seatings. The acoustic panels for the newspaper archive and café are from the sister company, Caruso Acoustic.

Around the early twentieth-century façade of the former school, glass and concrete partitions give shape to the new cultural hub ‘Il Pertini’. This transformation takes place in Cinisello Balsamo, made possible by a project conceived through an international competition led by the DOIT Architetti Associati studio. The glass windows reveal shelves with books, conveying a clear message: access to culture is for everyone. An invitation to foster a sense of community within a welcoming and cosy environment, where the library, complete with reading rooms, the newspaper archive, the media library, the café, the auditorium, the administrative offices, and the playroom come together.

At the behest of the administration, the school, which had fallen into severe disrepair, was demolished except for the main façade, which now serves as a theatrical backdrop around which contemporary architecture is built. Located on the lower ground floor, the large auditorium named in honour of Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino features C100 – Baldanzi & Novelli armchairs. The seats, with their straightforward design and high degree of customisation, have been chosen in the version with a low backrest and floor-level sides. The side panels and armrests are fully padded; while the structures are painted in graphite. Covered with Trevi CS fabric, the armchairs are made of FSC®certified wood C134805, which guarantees that the raw material is sourced from responsibly managed forests.

For the beams in the cultural hub’s newspaper archive, sister company Caruso Acoustic supplied and installed Silente model flush-mounted acoustic panels, while panels with integrated LED lighting were chosen for the café.
