Furniture, accessories, and signage: complete setup for the classrooms of the new Biological Institutes at the University of Ferrara

Study benches E4000 – Lucci e Orlandini, complementary furnishings and signage for the chemical-biomedical centre of the University of Emilia

A total of 750 seats were installed using the E4000 – Lucci e Orlandini study benches, accompanied by furnishings and accessories to ensure the full functionality of three classrooms and their associated facilities. The complete setup, delivered by LAMM, is intended for the new Biological Institutes at the chemical-biomedical centre of the University of Ferrara.

The three large classrooms in the central body of the campus received a comprehensive supply that included furnishings (study benches, chairs, speaker seating, and porcelain steel blackboards with a vertical sliding system), accessories (wall and floor hangers, waste bins, and integrated recycling systems), wayfinding signage, and toilet accessories.

The E4000 integrated chair-and-table system – arranged in straight rows on stepped tiers and equipped with an electrification system – features a tip-up writing surface with a slowed and cushioned closing system. Seats, backrests, and writing tables are made from oak laminate produced by Abet Laminati, while the structural elements are painted silver. The wood used comes from well-managed forests certified by FSC® and other controlled sources (FSC® C134805). The supply also includes six lecturer desks with modesty panels, 12 HL3 chairs chosen in the version with aluminium armrests, and six slate-coloured porcelain steel blackboards with a vertical sliding system.

This project builds on LAMM’s extensive experience in outfitting university learning environments. The work for the University of Ferrara follows installations and supplies for renowned institutions, including campuses designed by internationally acclaimed architects—such as the new Bocconi Campus in Milan by studio Sanaa and the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) Paris-Saclay by the Renzo Piano Building Workshop. The list also includes La Sapienza University of Rome and Federico II University of Naples, for which LAMM was awarded framework agreements to supply and install educational furniture and equipment.

Once again, both standard and custom furnishings successfully meet the ambitious demands set by universities in Italy and across Europe. These institutions increasingly require high-quality, inspiring environments that support learning and reflect their international standing.
