Complete furnishing supply for the Scuola Superiore Meridionale, flagship institution of higher university education
LAMM furnishes the premises of the SSM, a young institution dedicated to enhance talent and attracting the brightest minds, located in one of Naples’ most evocative historic buildings in the city centre.
Comprehensive and diverse supply of educational furniture for the Scuola Superiore Meridionale (SSM), a young and prestigious institution for advanced university and doctoral education. As a partner of the Università degli Studi Federico II, the SSM is an independent school with an international profile, whose mission is to nurture young talent. This unique institution is housed in one of the university’s historic buildings in the centre of Naples.
A centre of excellence for which LAMM managed the supply and on-site installation of furnishings and teaching equipment for various spaces, including: classrooms, study and reading rooms, the Great Hall and the teaching staff’s offices. This project acknowledges the value and expertise that LAMM has gained within university settings, demonstrating an understanding of contemporary education needs and offering solutions that combine quality, functionality and design whilst fully respecting the historic character of the spaces.
In the classrooms, E4000 study benches – Lucci e Orlandini were installed; the chosen version features tip-up seats and writing tables in a beech finish, equipped with storage baskets. The L213 armchair – R & D LAMM installed in the Great Hall also features a minimalist design. Arranged in straight rows on level floors, they are fitted with a black, fold-away writing tablet that tucks away into the side panel. The elegance of the modules distinguishes the seats, designed to enhance both the front and rear views.
The supply is complemented by office seating and furnishings, desks and meeting tables, teacher’s desks and raised platforms. The package also includes sound-absorbing panels manufactured by the sister company Caruso Acoustic, to ensure optimal acoustic comfort within the spaces. All products and furnishings comply with the Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) according to Italian Regulations, the ecological requirements defined by the Ministry of the Environment to guide Public Administration procurement toward low-impact products. Wood materials used for the supply are FSC® C134805 certified, sourced from responsibly managed forests and other controlled material.
