OnTime armchairs for Sparkasse’s innovative creative hub in Bolzano’s historic city centre

LAMM seating serve the dynamism of the new brand of the largest independent banking group in the Triveneto area, designed to bring young people closer to the world of finance.

Increasing financial literacy, supporting personal and professional development, stimulating creativity and passion and, ultimately, encouraging the exchange of ideas and collaboration. These are the objectives driving Sparkasse – Cassa di Risparmio di Bolzano, the largest independent banking group in the Triveneto area, and its new Spark brand. The initiative has a strong digital presence across social media and the web, as well as two physical spaces: Spark Space, a creative hub designed as a meeting place for sharing experiences and Spark Studio, a cutting-edge studio for producing and sharing digital content.

The project operates on several fronts, focusing on financial education for younger generations, building an active community with which to engage and connect, and increasing awareness of products and tools that can help people manage their finances.

Located in Bolzano’s historic city centre, the spaces offer a range of technologies and facilities for content creation, including a podcast room and professional videoconferencing facilities. At the heart of the project are the meeting spaces. The auditorium at Spark Space is a particular highlight: a dynamic and vibrant environment enhanced by OnTime armchairs – Baldanzi & Novelli, reflecting the brand’s values and its aim of bringing people together to create an innovative ecosystem for dialogue and exchange.

With OnTime, the space can be easily reconfigured. This newly designed armchair, conceived for multifunctional environments, features an exclusive movement system that allows seat and sides to fold up on the backrest, reducing its total thickness to just 20 cm. Once folded, the armchair can be easily moved and stored. For the Bolzano project, the fixed feet version has been selected; a version with swivel black castors is also available. The armchairs are upholstered in 100% Trevira CS polyester fabric, which is OEKO-TEX® certified and carries the EU Ecolabel. These certifications attest to the fabric’s compliance with relevant health and environmental standards.

The tip-up writing tablet uses an extractable interlocking system (no screws used), which makes replacement quick and straightforward while also simplifying chair storage. Functionality is combined with comfort: the backrest adapts to the seated user’s posture thanks to a mechanism with harmonic steel springs that give to the upper side greater flexibility and ergonomic support. Attention to detail and aesthetics are equally important to the design. The movement system leaves no visible hinges, while the upholstery colours were selected to harmonise perfectly with Sparkasse’s distinctive corporate colours. The supply is complemented by transport dollies for stacked seats and connecting hooks for aligning the rows.

The F50 armchairs for the Ziraat Bank headquarters, located in Istanbul’s premier financial district

The LAMM armchairs furnish and enhance the functionality of the futuristic auditorium designed by the international firm KPF – Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates.

In Turkey’s most important financial district, developed following the smart city model to foster economic growth and attract international investors, stands the headquarters of the historic Ziraat Bank, a leader in the Turkish banking sector and wealth management. The design is by the international studio KPF – Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, with offices in China, the USA, Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Korea, and the authors of projects such as Abu Dhabi International Airport, the Shanghai World Financial Center, and numerous well-known urban transformation initiatives.

The Ziraat Bank headquarters is the central hub of the new “Istanbul International Financial Center” district. The bank’s headquarters comprises two sculptural towers of 40 and 46 floors, unified by a base eight stories high, featuring bridges that facilitate connection within the architectural complex. The lower levels of the base feature the sculptural form of the independent auditorium. It resembles a stone floating above the ground and is clad in locally sourced, digitally fabricated double-curved stone panels.

The futuristic auditorium, the crowning jewel of the new architecture, is furnished and made functional with over 500 F50 armchairs – R&D LAMM, which contrast the majestic, undulating wooden ceiling designed for optimal acoustics. Comfort, elegance, versatility, and a wide range of accessories are offered for the fully upholstered seating, installed in curved rows on stepped tiers with variable spacing. Some chairs were specifically developed to be completely removable: their installation was carried out using double side panels, mounted on a ‘rack’ system. This allows the chairs to be easily moved in groups of two or three on wheels with just a few simple steps.

The armchairs are numbered by seat and row, and those facing the staircases are equipped with side LED lights to illuminate the steps. For the upholstery, three shades of red were chosen to create a harmonious chromatic effect, adding dynamism and movement to the space.
